Does your business involve staff driving for work? FREE support available

As part of the Safe System approach, the Vision Zero Road Safety Partnership are addressing the issue of Travelling for Work. Research indicates that 1 in 3 collisions on the road involve someone who is ‘at work,’ with the casualty most often being a third party. To reach our ambitious casualty reduction targets we need to work with our local business community to reduce the number of ‘at work’ incidents taking place.

We are developing a project to assist local businesses and organisations, by offering a range of free interventions starting with delivery or updating of Travelling for Work policies and risk assessments. A road safety specialist funded by National Highways will be mentoring a team of local practitioners, which is where we need your help. We need a small number of businesses or organisations to work with, we will deliver you a deliver you a bespoke policy and risk assessment with follow up workshops for all staff, completely free of charge. All we will need from you is a little of your time during the process.

The long-term benefit for you is increased safety for your activity, which brings with it reduced costs, more efficiency and a happier team. The benefit for us is the opportunity to build up the skill set of our practitioners using real world examples. We would also be working together to reduce the number of people killed and injured on the roads of Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. If you think you could work with us on this project, please get in touch for a no obligation, informal chat. Email road.safety@cambridgeshire.gov.uk
